i post paintings, writing tips, interesting animals, and tons of crap i find funny that usually eclipses everything else.

I come across comments like “I just can’t write male characters” or “I can’t get into a female character’s head” and it boggles me. What happened to chilling out and just writing a person first and foremost? Isn’t one of the best ways to avoid clichéd characters to think outside the scope of stereotypical “male” and “female” personality traits?

good point. but for me it’s difficult to write men only if it’s in 1st person. i find their inner voice (style i guess) not their behavior to be different than women (and my own). it gets kinda gray once writing about gender identity though…
